FAQ
What is in the ZIP?
favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px inside one file), PNG 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, apple-touch-icon 180×180, 192×192 and 512×512 icons for Android, site.webmanifest and a file with the HTML snippet.
Is it a real ICO or a renamed PNG?
A real one: the file starts with an ICO header and holds a directory of three images, each stored in PNG format. All current browsers and Windows Vista or later understand this kind of ICO.
How will the emoji look for visitors?
The emoji is drawn with your device’s font and saved as an image, so every visitor sees the icon exactly as it appears in your preview.
Why does the iPhone icon have a black background?
iOS fills transparent areas of apple-touch-icon with black. If people may add your site to their Home Screen, untick “Transparent background” and pick a colour.
Is my image uploaded?
No, all icons are drawn on a canvas in your browser.
