Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100: 15% of 2000 = 2000 × 15 / 100 = 300.
(New − Old) / Old × 100. If a price rose from 80 to 100, the increase = (100 − 80) / 80 × 100 = 25%.
The percentages are taken from different bases: 100 + 10% = 110, but 110 − 10% = 99.
