FAQ
Why is v7 better than v4?
UUID v7 starts with a millisecond timestamp, so new values are naturally ordered. That makes inserts into database indexes (PostgreSQL, MySQL) faster.
Can UUIDs collide?
For v4 the chance is negligible: 122 random bits. The generator uses crypto.getRandomValues.
Are GUID and UUID the same?
Yes, GUID is Microsoft’s name for a UUID.
